Professional Organizations:

The American Accounting Association - The American Accounting Association promotes worldwide excellence in accounting education, research, and practice.

American Taxation Association - A major objective of the ATA is to promote tax educational activities including (but not limited to) curriculum, education-related materials, graduate tax programs, and tax accreditation matters.

The Academy of Accounting Historians - An objective of the AAH is to assemble and disseminate materials that foster the integration of history into accounting curriculum, and other charges as determined by the President.

National Accounting Boards:

Government Accounting Standards Board - The goal of GASB is to establish and improve standards of state and local governmental accounting and financial reporting that will help students understand accounting issues.

Financial Accounting Standards Board - The purpose of FASB is to establish and improve standards of financial accounting and help students understand accounting issues.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants - The mission of AICPA is to provide members with the resources and information which will help in accounting classes.
